Slant headstones sit upright, but are angled allowing for the family name to be placed on the front of the stone. The face of the headstone is typically polished and the edges are usually rock pitched, meaning that they are bumpy. The back of the stone is flat. Religious symbols, flowers, photographs, and other scenary can be engraved or sandblasted onto slanted headstones. You can even have a bronze marker mounted to a slant stone. Slant markers are also called gravestones, cemetery slant markers, slant tombstones, and slant markers.
